Guided By Conviction

The '76 House is revving up our reenactment series for the fall season, starting with one very special trial! The Scene: Two officers of the 2nd Light Dragoons stationed at Wright's Mills in North Castle, NY are in disagreement about the handling of a conspicuous traveler that has been captured in lower Westchester County by three local militia. The captive was carrying a pass written in their commander's hand and carrying documents related to the fortifications at West Point. Both officers debate how the matter has been handled and whether or not to change course. It's a race against time with the future of the cause of independence hanging in the balance. So come enjoy our amazing brunch buffet at The '76 House then watch history being made all over again!

Trouble's afoot at The '76 House as we throw a chilling murder mystery night! The Scene: The rustle of silks and feathers under muted conversation was probably the last thing heard by the tragically and unexpectedly deceased at the Billionaires' Club Annual Masquerade Ball. With a mystery under each feathery façade, unmasking the killer may be quite a challenge. It's up to you to determine which partygoer is guilty, bring this crime to justice, and save the party! Ghosts of Sleepy Hollow

The '76 House is kicking off October strong with a storytelling talk diving deep into what the spirit of Major John Andre wants to tell us about the American Revolution. How the Headless Horseman, that galloping goblin, serves as a metaphor for the United States. Why a spell, perhaps cast by "Mother Hulda," makes her the witch of the Revolution. And of course we must find out what the Wailing Woman in White warns! Drawing from the book "Legends and Lore of Sleepy Hollow," Jonathan Kruk shares the origins and meanings of the Revolution's haunting ghosts. So come for dinner and an old school storytelling adventure at The '76 house!
